In good hands

In Good Hands is our ongoing public art initiative that places original, commissioned artwork inside three of Laramie's most essential healthcare spaces: 7220 Counseling, which specializes in LGBTQIA+ mental health, and the Downtown Clinic, which serves our uninsured neighbors, and Laramie Reproductive Health which supports us in all our reproductive health needs Through direct commissions, Alces brings Wyoming artists into these spaces to create work that speaks to healing, belonging, and the full dignity of every person who walks through those doors. The result is an environment where care is not only practiced — it is felt in the walls.

Art has always known what medicine is still learning: that to be seen is itself a form of healing. In Good Hands recognizes that the spaces where we seek care carry meaning, and that meaning shapes outcomes. Each commissioned work is chosen with intention — responsive to the communities these clinics hold, to the particular vulnerabilities and strengths people carry into waiting rooms and treatment spaces. Alces believes that artists are culture bearers and knowledge makers, and this project puts that belief into practice by investing in Wyoming creatives while transforming three places where it matters most.
