On April 18th, the Laramie Plains Civic Center filled with music, laughter, cumbia, and community — all in service of something urgent and necessary.

The Immigration Justice Fundraiser was organized by Laramie community members and juntos Juntos Wyoming, a nonprofit dedicated to serving Wyoming's immigrant community and its allies through activism, coalition building, education, and advocacy. The evening featured live performances by Sagebrush Stringband, NOISEFOLK, SpinDrifter, and DJ Sonido Infante, alongside food, drinks, raffles, and art — with an ambitious goal of raising $5,000 for Juntos's Emergency Fund. That fund goes directly to families of people detained by ICE, covering lawyers, rent, food, and other essential needs during some of the most destabilizing moments a family can face.

ALCES Community Works contributed promotional design and printing to help get the word out. It's a small thing in the scheme of what Juntos does, but we believe that getting people in the room matters — and that telling the story of an event is part of the event itself. We believe that when our stories are told, we are represented. That conviction extends to our immigrant neighbors, whose contributions, histories, and presence are deeply woven into the fabric of Wyoming life.

A vibrant democracy depends on who gets to be seen, heard, and remembered — and supporting organizations like Juntos, who are doing the daily work of keeping families together and communities whole, is part of how we live that out. We are grateful to have played even a small role in an evening built on solidarity and care.
